This training workshop was organized in order to equip the research partners on the main research tool which they will use to carry out research on “HIV/AIDS financing and spending: A local government perspective”. This was a follow up to the methodology workshop organized by Idasa-GAP which was held in Tanzania in 2009. The main objective of the research was to transfer skills to the research partners on NASA, develop a common consensus on the sample size, agree on the common indicators and tailor make the NASA questionnaires to suit the different country contexts and enable them to train their selected research assistants. The workshop was also an experience sharing forum where partners from the different countries share their different research flows in their countries and identified the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of using NASA as a methodology.
