Political Crisis, Mediation and the Prospects for Transitional Justice in Zimbabwe.

By: Shari Eppel and Brian Raftopoulos. Solidarity Peace Trust, South Africa.

The major purpose of this paper is to firstly set out the current political and economic constraints in Zimbabwe in Part 11, and then, in Part 111, to suggest ways in which transitional justice options can begin to be set out. It is hoped that the analysis provided here will present a more realistic assessment of the prospects of transitional justice processes being placed on the national political agenda in Zimbabwe in the current context.
