Women's Rights in Conflict in Zimbabwe
[2008 September 3]

By: Kudakwashe Chitsike

The treatment of women during times of conflict led to the development of the Nairobi Declaration on Women's and Girls' Rights to Remedy and Reparation in May 2007.  The Declaration is founded on the experience of women and girl survivors of sexual violence and the expertise of activists helping them to rebuild their lives.

Zimbabwe's low intensity conflict over the last 8 years has seen many abuses for girls and women.

See this document for how the Nairobi Declaration should be applied in Zimbabwe.
